Sub Studies

A sub-study is a mechanism that allows MGBase centres to share data for research purposes
Substudies (1)

MGBase Registry members may form study groups known as Sub-studies. The prime purpose of a sub-study group is to undertake multi-centre research on a subset of the Registry global dataset.

The Principal Investigator of an MGBase centre can create a sub-study to collaborate and request data from other centres or join an existing sub-study to contribute their centre’s data for research purposes. These studies can be restricted based on location (National/Regional) or a particular area of interest (Thematic) with the ability to specify centre and/or patient criteria during set up. Examples of current MGBase Registry sub-studies can be seen below.

Note: The MGBase Registry collects observational data only and each centre is required to obtain appropriate ethics approval to contribute their data to the registry. Therefore this ethics approval should automatically cover participation in all the sub-studies that use observational data only.
